Chairing the forum, ChinaContact Managing Director Roy Graff will open the event and provide a perspective on China's booming outbound tourism sector and what opportunities exist for Western tourism bodies to benefit, in light of the increasing competition from international destinations.

10:15-10:30 The Face of China Tourism: Driving Change

By Peter de Jong, PATA President and CEO. A macro view of China’s travel & tourism sector and how it is changing our industry daily. The presentation will outline the immense changes that have taken place in the Asia Pacific region as a result of the growth of the Chinese tourism sector. What lessons should other regions learn from this? How is Asia preparing to continue profiting from Chinese tourism in the future, in the face of increased competition and growing sophistication of the Chinese travellers?

In a keynote speech, Professor Wolfgang Arlt who heads the China Outbound Tourism Research Institute in Germany will analyse the changing trends in Chinese outbound tourism and in the Chinese government's attempts at controlling it. Unveiling the newly released quality label for welcoming Chinese visitors, he will explain why quality differentiation is becoming increasingly important.

10:45-11:00 Providing hospitality for Chinese visitors

Rosita Yiu, Vice President in charge of Accor Hotels' Asian sales for their European properties, will present a hotelier's perspective on the challenges in marketing accommodation in China and what accommodation providers in Europe and the West should take into consideration when reaching to this market.

11:00-11:15 The state of travel technology in China

When it comes to travel distribution technology, Olivier Dombey is the man to ask - having headed Pegasus Solutions' China and Asian operations. He will present the present status of travel technology acceptance and usage within the Chinese tourism industry.
